So awesome.
It seems that Zach Snyder’s 300, besides being a box office monster and an “insult” to 70 million Iranians, is creating a lot of buzz due to the physiques of the 95% naked male stars.
For those of you hoping to obtain that Spartan body, check out the video above for an intro to the physical torture that the actors went through in preparation for the film.
It’s crazy stuff. Looks like they’re doing lots of work with russian kettlebells, which is awesome. One of these days I’m going to try this exercise program. I don’t think I’d be able to do a 30 rep workout, let alone the 300 rep gauntlet that the actors performed.
For more info head over to Gym Jones and read what 300 head trainer Mark Twight has to say about the 300 training program.

Variety is reporting that Gerald Butler has signed on to play bad-ass renegade Snake Plissken in the upcoming remake of John Carpenters Escape from New York.
Remaking Carpenter flicks seems to be all the rage in Hollywood these days, but so far the results have been split between the very good remake of Assault of Precinct 13, and the god awful remake of The Fog. I’m happy that Butler’s on board and all, but I’m not really sure why Escape from New York really needs a remake - the original still holds up great today.
It’s the same with Rob Zombie’s upcoming Halloween remake. The original is a horror classic that is just as scary today as it was in 1978. Over at AICN they’ve been saying that the early drafts of the script fell into the trap of attributing Michael Myers’ evil to some childhood trauma. Why Hollywood has decided in the last few years that they need to ruin great villains by explaining their evilness is beyond me (see Hannibal Rising). Michael Myers is just pure evil — he’s a force of nature.. he doesn’t need some lame backstory about abusive parents or whatever to make him interesting.

So I surfed over to mtv.com today, excited to see 300 seconds of Zach Snyder’s soon to be opening adaptation of Frank Miller’s 300.
Unfortunately instead of 300 seconds of ass-kicking Frank Miller CGI awesomeness I got an ugly red screen informing me that “Copyrights prevent us from showing this video outside of the US”. That’s what I get for living in Canada.
Maybe someone can describe it to me?
Only one short week until director Zach Snyder’s (Dawn of the Dead 2004) adaptation of Frank Miller’s kick ass graphic novel 300 hits the theatres.
While you’re waiting, check out the utter awesomeness of the trailers in glorious high definition.
