Comingsoon.net is reporting that David Yates, the director of the upcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is also going to be directing its sequel, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
I’ve never seen anything Yates has done, but assuming he doesn’t stink up the joint like Mike Newell did with Goblet of Fire, it’ll be nice to have some continuity in the series again. Then again, the last time we had continuity of direction we got the first two crapfests from Christopher Columbus.. hmmm. Why they just didn’t hire Alfonso Cuaron to direct all the films after the incredible Prisoner of Azkaban is beyond me. On that note, go rent/buy Children of Men right now.
