… and go see Wall-E if you haven’t already. It’s easily the best movie so far this year, and probably Pixar’s best film. Yes, there’s very little dialogue, but the animation is stunning and it plays like a silent film worthy of Chaplin or Keaton (That’s Buster, not Michael)

Looks like Disney’s next movie is going to be a good old fashioned hand drawn animated movie. In my opinion traditional animation and computer animation are just neutral mediums, the end product’s quality has a lot more to do with the quality of the storytelling. Obvious I know, but when Disney made a big deal out of ending their traditional animation methods I think they started to forget what’s really important - the story. Hopefully this one will be better - I feel sorry for younger kids who get Cinderella 3, when I grew up on the Little Mermaid and the Lion King.
(Thank God for John Lasseter and the Pixar takeover. Ending traditional animation was one of the stupidest things that Disney has ever done -darn.)
