So, over at /Film they are no speculating that J.J. Abrams’ Cloverfield aka 01-18-08 aka Monstrous aka … might finally have a real name, and that name is… Overnight.
Well, that’s not bad if it turns out to be the real name. This secrecy around the name thing is getting a little boring though. Come on J.J. let’s have it! What’s this thing called?

More ComicCon news, this time from moviesonline.ca, who bring us this newly unveiled movie poster for J.J. Abrams upcoming Star Trek reboot/revamp. I like the retro look with the classic Star Trek font personally.
The other big Star Trek news of the day is that it is now confirmed that Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heroes) has been cast as Mr. Spock - great casting. Also, it is now confirmed that Leonard Nimoy will have a in the upcoming film, and William Shatner most likely will as well! As a trekkie who’s been kind of down on the franchise since ST:TNG went off the air, this is super exciting. J.J.’s doing everything right so far!

Over at AICN they are speculating that Cloverfield - the codename for the movie featured in the nameless trailer that ran before Transformers, will be called Monstrous. The blurry poster they have up looks pretty cool and it could be legit.

Apple.com has the awesome teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams’ (Lost, Alias, MI:3) upcoming movie project, codenamed “Cloverfield” or just “01-18-08″. This the trailer with no name that ran before Transformers in a lot of theatres. There’s a pretty interesting viral marketing campaign going on around this movie. The most interesting theory I’ve heard so far is that the story has something to do with H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos. That would be so incredibly awesome it can’t possibly be true, but I’m holding out hope.
